On March 7, the Constitution Committee of the Chamber of Deputies passed the data protection bill.
It is important to point out that the bill has the utmost urgency and must be known and sent by the Chamber within 15 days from March 8.
Among the main novelties, it was finally defined that the regulatory body will be a specialized agency with autonomy to supervise and sanction.
Finally, it is established that the term of entry into force of the law will be 24 months from its publication in the Official Gazette, period in which companies must adapt to the new regulatory requirements.
