Lately, a great controversy has arisen in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI): The creation of videos and songs using this technology to replicate the image or voice of a celebrity or well-known person.
This development has generated a debate about the ethical and legal limits of using someone’s image or voice without their consent to generate multimedia content.
The ability of AI to recreate visual appearance and tone of voice with a high level of accuracy has led to the development of applications and programs that can generate dialogue and songs that appear to be performed by public figures.
This technology, based on deep learning algorithms, has the ability to analyze and replicate physical appearance and/or vocal patterns with surprising accuracy, which has allowed the creation of audiovisual material that appears authentic, but in reality is completely generated by a computer system or computer.
Two issues specifically related to Intellectual Property and image rights may arise from the above.
