Our Senior Associate from the IP, Tech, and Data Group, Antonia Nudman, spoke with La Segunda newspaper about the seizure of counterfeit school supplies in Barrio Meiggs.
The Intellectual Property Crimes Investigation Brigade (BRIDEPI) seized 13,980 counterfeit Proarte products in Barrio Meiggs, including tempera paints and glues.
“The counterfeiting of school materials is already a well-known issue and has been happening for a long time,” said Proarte’s General Manager, David Rozowski. He warned that these products “not only infringe intellectual property regulations, but they could also affect children’s health.”
Attorney Antonia Nudman, from Albagli Zaliasnik law firm, who represented the company legally, stated that “effectively coordinated actions allow the removal of infringing products in a short time frame.” She added that the investigation would continue to proceed with the destruction of the items after the judicial ruling.
Rozowski called for “us to unite as a sector and collaborate with authorities to eradicate such crimes and protect consumers.”
